Oakyard German Shepherds is a small, family-owned kennel specializing in the breeding of AKC-registered German Shepherd dogs. As dedicated dog enthusiasts, we are committed to producing healthy, well-socialized German Shepherds that make exceptional companions and family pets.
Our breeding dogs undergo rigorous screening and acquire the necessary Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) certifications for Degenerative myelopathy (DM), a disease that affects the spinal cord, resulting in slowly progressive hind limb weakness and paralysis found commonly in German Shepherds.
Starting at just 3 days old, our puppies undergo Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), which involves exposing them to a variety of sensory experiences during their early development. This method, initially developed by the U.S. Military for their canine program, has proven to be effective and continues to guide best practices.
The "Bio Sensor" program, later known to the public as the "Super Dog" Program, was created to enhance the performance of military dogs. Extensive research has shown that early neurological stimulation exercises have significant and lasting benefits.
